Hundertwasser

Tienes razon Cafeina.

It looks like an old german village like Marburg or Hiedelberg on LSD. As much as I like Gaudi, there seems to be a lack of balance and visual cohesive accuity in the work, colors are ok, but it looks like the aftermath of an earthquake in the "ubberstrasse". I'd rather reside in my mediterranean home, than an "German village on a bad Trip".

Celia Sanchez.
Mucho mi arrebato distanciero? Help me, please.
El Fiera (you know who) debe estar en eso mismo: enlightening himself y aprendiendo.

One of Asger Jorn's most important works is situated in Cuba.
In 1968 Asger Jorn attended an artists' conference in Havana - as member of a French delegation.
During the conference he suggested that the painters contributed by decorating a building.Celia Sanchez - the head of the conference, and close friend to fidel Castro - put the former "Banco Hipotecario Mendoza" on the "Linea" between 10th and 12th. at his disposal.
Six huge mural paintings by Jorn and one by Saura were finished, but of the other participants, only Celia Sanchez contributed with a small mural-painting.
Fortunately the building is now used as a library (for the manuscripts of the revolution) and is air-conditioned. The murals have therefore been well preserved and are in an a fairly good condition to-day.
As the building holds material that is considered of military value, access to it is restricted, and can not be visited by tourists.

CoBrA
It began in Denmark
Cobra was chosen as the name, taken from the names of the 3 cities involved , COpenhagen, BRussels and Amsterdam.

The ideological and idiomatic preconditions for COBRA can be found in Danish art from the period 1935-1945. The influence of the Danish artists remained decisive throughout the COBRA period, and was possibly also an important cause of internal conflicts, and for the lack of acceptance by the art establishment, especially in Paris. COBRA was quite simply too different and was perceived as conservative in relation to the Parisian avantgarde.

The point of departure for COBRA collaboration was thus the results that the Danish “abstract artists” had achieved in the course of the period 1935-45. These were remarkable and the product of a series of coincidental circumstances. Obviously, the main reason was the presence of a whole generation of unusually gifted artists, most of them born around 1910, in their twenties when their development picked up speed in the thirties and around 35 when the war was over, a decade older than most of their other colleagues in COBRA.

Each artist was a strong and independent personality and this is why so many conflicts as well as fruitful dialogues and discussions occurred. What held them together was the consciousness of belonging to a Danish tradition, of being different from artists from the great centres further south in Europe. At the same time they harvested material from those areas for a vision of what it was to be an artist. An example of the Dutch Cobra Group is Karl Appel (Carlos Manzana)., which used childlike primary colors and. A sculpture by Appel can be found at the treatment plant in Miami titled "The Butterfly"...
